The Rise

at Coler Mountain Bike Preserve

An Ergonomic Ascent to Coler’s Highest Point

The Rise serves as a pedestrian-only stairway and running space, providing visitors with a safe, invigorating way to reach the Hub — the highest point in Coler Mountain Bike Preserve. This stairway was thoughtfully designed for foot traffic only; bikes, Onewheels, strollers, and scooters are not permitted on the stairs or carried up or down.

Inspired Design

Designed by modus studios and inspired by the famous workout stairs in Santa Monica, California, The Rise blends modern materials with natural aesthetics. Constructed of steel and rough-sawn cedar, the stairway features 185 steps, equivalent to 11 flights of stairs, offering a challenging yet accessible workout amidst the woods.

Location & Access

The Rise is located just 200 yards north of Airship along the east side of the paved Applegate Trail. The most convenient access is from the North Parking Lot off Peach Orchard Road (near addresses 11840-11850). Visitors can also reach The Rise from any Coler parking area via the scenic Applegate Trail, which connects from SW 8th Street to NW 3rd Street.

Visitor Guidelines

The Rise is intended for pedestrians only.
