Rooted in Northwest Arkansas:
One Foundation, Four Ways to Experience It
Four community spaces. One shared mission.
At first glance, the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden, Compton Gardens & Arboretum, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, and Osage Park with The Quiver Archery Range may seem like very different spaces. A historic home. A peaceful arboretum. A mountain bike preserve. A bustling park.
But here’s the surprise: they’re all connected through one non-profit, the Peel Compton Foundation.
Why We Exist
The Peel Compton Foundation cultivates experiences that connect the community through nature, education, recreation, and preservation.
-
Our vision: Preserve the uniqueness of Northwest Arkansas for future generations.
-
Our values: Free access. Inclusivity. Sustainability. Beauty. Wellness.
Every visitor, every trail walked, and every garden admired helps strengthen the bond between people and place.
Peel Museum & Botanical Garden
Step into Bentonville’s past at the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden, surrounded by gardens that bloom with the seasons. It’s a favorite spot for weddings, tours, and quiet afternoons that remind us where this community began.
Compton Gardens & Arboretum
Once home to Dr. Neil Compton, the conservationist who helped save the Buffalo River, this seven-acre green space is now a living tribute to his legacy. Native plants, towering trees, and winding paths make it one of downtown Bentonville’s most peaceful escapes.
Coler Mountain Bike Preserve
With more than 20 miles of trails and a community campground, Coler has become a nationally recognized hub for mountain biking and outdoor recreation. Whether you’re dropping into a downhill ride or just enjoying the trails with family, Coler is proof that adventure belongs to everyone.
Osage Park & The Quiver
This 70-acre urban park is where wetlands and recreation meet. Walk the floating boardwalk, play a game of pickleball, enjoy local food trucks, or try your hand at archery at The Quiver. It’s one of the most versatile community spaces in the region.
Why It Matters
Each space offers something different, but they’re united by a single mission: to keep Northwest Arkansas unique, connected, and accessible to all.
Together, these places welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors every year—families, students, adventurers, and neighbors who come to learn, play, and explore.
And because they’re part of one nonprofit, every experience is part of a bigger story: a living legacy for future generations.
Your Invitation
The next time you find yourself at one of these places, remember—they’re all part of the same foundation. They’re all part of the same mission.
So whether you’re biking a trail, walking a boardwalk, visiting a historic home, or simply pausing in the shade of a tree, know this: you’re helping preserve the future of Northwest Arkansas.
Come see what we’re cultivating.
