150th Anniversary of the Peel Home

“We made it 150 years — and with your support, we’re looking ahead to the next 150.”

In 2025, we proudly celebrated the 150th Anniversary of the historic Peel Home, marking a major milestone for the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden and for the Bentonville community. Throughout the year, guests, supporters, and neighbors joined us to honor the stories, traditions, and people who have shaped this cherished landmark since 1875.

Together, we reflected on the Peel Home’s rich past while celebrating the role it continues to play as a place of learning, gathering, and preservation for Northwest Arkansas.

Throughout 2025, the 150th Anniversary brought the community together through special events, extended museum access, educational programming, and opportunities to leave a lasting legacy on the property. From intimate after-hours experiences to large community gatherings, each moment helped tell the story of the Peel Home — past, present, and future.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated, supported, and celebrated with us.

Support

For 150 years, the Peel Museum has stood as a living piece of Northwest Arkansas history. Thanks to the generosity of our community, this anniversary year helped strengthen preservation efforts and ensured continued care of the home and gardens for generations to come.

Leave Your Mark

As part of the anniversary celebration, supporters had the opportunity to purchase commemorative brick pavers, now permanently displayed along the sidewalks of the Peel grounds. These engraved bricks serve as lasting reminders of the community’s commitment to preserving the Peel Museum & Botanical Garden for future generations.

Explore the Museum After Hours

In 2025, we extended our hours to give the community more opportunities to explore Bentonville’s history after the museum’s regular closing time. Visitors stepped inside the historic Peel Home to experience life in the 1800s, exploring thoughtfully arranged rooms that highlighted the charm of the Victorian era.

Year-Round Classes

Throughout the anniversary year, we offered a variety of educational programs that brought together history, gardening, and hands-on learning. Classes were designed for anyone interested in Victorian-era traditions, including gardening, floral arranging, the art of tea, and homemaking.
